White Sage Smudge | Ancient ritual, local roots

This isn't your mass-produced, dusty-shelf sage. Our white sage bundles are grown on a small, woman-owned biodynamic farm nestled in the Las Lomas hills — where the fog rolls in just right and the land is tended with as much intention as the ritual you're about to perform.

White sage (Salvia apiana) is native to the coastal hills of California and has been sacred to the Chumash, Cahuilla, Kumeyaay, and other Indigenous nations of this region for centuries — used in ceremony, as medicine, as food, and as offering. We source our sage with deep respect for those roots, which is exactly why we grow it rather than wild-harvest it. Over-harvesting of wild white sage is a real and growing problem, driven by the wellness industry's demand. A farm-grown bundle means the wild plants stay where they belong — in the hills, available to the communities for whom this plant holds genuine sacred meaning.

When you light the tip and let that silvery smoke curl through the room, something shifts. The air smells like the California coast after rain, your nervous system gets the memo that it's time to reset, and suddenly even that corner of the living room where you put things you'll "deal with later" feels a little lighter.

During its season, fresh white sage is available — bundled straight from the farm before it's ever been dried. It's a rare, fleeting thing, and honestly? Worth the moment.

BEST FOR
Clearing bad vibes, clearing out an ex's energy, clearing your inbox (it's worth a try), new moon rituals, moving into a new home, moving out of a bad situation, your Sunday morning, meditation, gifting to that one friend who's very into crystals, and general life maintenance.

SIZES
Medium bundle, approximately 5 sticks, generally about 8-10 inches long. Enough sage to reset your whole vibe and probably your neighbor's.

SEASONS
Dried white sage is available year-round. Fresh white sage is a seasonal offering — here when the farm says it's ready, gone when it isn't.

NOTES
White sage is a plant sacred to the Indigenous nations of California. We encourage you to engage with it thoughtfully and with gratitude for its origins. By choosing farm-grown over wild-harvested, you're helping protect both the plant and the communities who have always called it theirs.
